Betty L. Overdorf, 87, a resident of Montgomery, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at her residence. Born in Gregg Twp., Union County, PA, on Sunday, January 3, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Millie (Ritter) McCormick.
Betty was the widow of Robert I. Overdorf who preceded her in death on April 2, 2010. She was a 1943 graduate of the former Watsontown High School. Betty was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery. Betty was a member of Bower-Decker American Legion Post #251 ladies auxiliary at Montgomery. She enjoyed search word puzzles and watching soap operas.
Betty is survived by her daughter-in-law, Patricia L. Overdorf, of Montgomery, PA and one sister, Arlene Plassard of Indiana, PA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Darrel R. Overdorf; two sisters, Margaret Mix and Lois Drick and four brothers, Raymond McCormick, Delbert McCormick, William McCormick and Donald McCormick.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted in the Green Lawn Memorial Park at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 with Virginia Bailey, her pastor, officiating.
