Charles A. Taylor

   Charles A. (Slacky) Taylor, 84, a resident of Muncy, PA, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 in the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Born in Muncy, Lycoming County, PA, on Thursday, June 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Fred and Lillian (McBride) Taylor.

   He was the husband of Patricia (Knarr) Taylor with whom he celebrated a 61st wedding anniversary on September 1, 2011.

    Slacky was employed in the die department of the former Sprout-Waldron at Muncy, PA for 32 years.

    He was a member of the Keystone Hook and Ladder Co. where he had served on the ambulance, was a fire policeman and had helped many families over the years. Slacky was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed traveling south to fish, going to flea markets with his grandchildren and his car rides. He was a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed the company of his dog, Cubby.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Debra Taylor, Wilmington, NC; one daughter and son-in-law, Annette and David Nicholas, Watsontown, PA; two sisters, Betty Jean Kift, Loyalsock, PA; Carol Kleckner, Sayre, PA; eight grandchildren, Garrett Taylor; Justin Taylor; Travis Taylor; Courtney Taylor; Jeremy Nicholas; Jennifer Alexander; Julie Nicholas; Jolene Nicholas. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.

    A memorial service will be conducted from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Muncy Area Volunteer Fire Co., 35 S. Main Street, Muncy, PA 17756.
